About Evergy Power Outages
Evergy serves Kansas and western Missouri, including much of the Kansas City metro (alongside other providers in places). Ice storms, Plains thunderstorms, and tornadoes are the restoration drivers. Ameren Missouri covers eastern Missouri, a St. Louis outage is not Evergy.
Users do not pick Evergy. We count power reports from states where Evergy or Evergy Missouri West appears. We are not Evergy.
How to Report a Evergy Outage
Open outagemap.evergy.com or the Evergy app on cellular data. Report by phone or app. If the address is Ameren Missouri or a co-op, use that map. ETRs come from Evergy's Storm Center map.
Why Evergy Power Goes Out
In Kansas and western Missouri Evergy territories, an electric outage is usually local distribution, not a collapse of the bulk grid. Typical Evergy patterns:
A glaze event across the Flint Hills and Wichita can outweigh a typical thunderstorm week.
Straight-line wind drops trees on suburban laterals on both sides of the state line.
A supercell path can destroy poles in a corridor while the next county stays on.
Eastern Missouri is Ameren. Check the bill before reporting to Evergy.
